Keywords play a similar role in SEO as pillars do in the building. Your building will be more efficient if it has solid pillars. Similar to that, a cluster of the most valuable keywords will lead to a successful SEO campaign.

Defining Keywords: 

Keywords are the heartbeat of every SEO campaign. The terms people type into search engines to find content they are looking for are known as keywords.

For example, if I wanted a Nike shoe, I would type “Nike shoes for men” into the search bar of any search engine, which  is our keyword. We can see all the websites that are related to our query using this term, with the most relevant websites appearing at the top or #1 position in the SERP. In our case, it will be Nike’s own website.

Many search terms are possible to find a single service, product, or piece of content because everyone uses their own way to accomplish the search.

Keywords are valuable when they are relevant, have a high search volume, and are less competitive. Among the many keyword research tools available, I recommend Google Keyword Planner and SEMrush. They provide more relevant ideas related to your primary keyword along with average search volume and competition.

  • It is the first step in building an SEO campaign

Keyword research will always be the 1st step for an SEO campaign because everything done in SEO is for keywords. We all do SEO intending to get a higher rank for the relevant keywords in SERP(Search Engine Rank Page).

Keywords are the basis of all SEO strategies, including  content optimization, on-page optimization, and off-page optimization.

Thus, it is imperative  in SEO to choose highly relevant keywords and optimize them for your website or content.

  • You can better understand the user’s search intent

You performed keyword research with tools to come up with better ideas for keywords or content that customers might be searching for, but unfortunately, you didn’t target them.

For Ex:

You have a primary keyword: Eco Glitter

When you do keyword research using your primary keywords, you get more insight into what your users are also searching for.

When you rank first for a keyword, close to 70% of the traffic from that search term will go to your site.

  • Get more qualified leads

SEO is the right step for any business interested in lead generation. 

Your keywords will drive highly relevant traffic through SEO, and the keywords generating leads will be the most valuable keywords for your business. 

A high conversion rate can be achieved by targeting the right keywords for the service or product.
